A total of 275 Filipino workers availed of the 4th Quarter 2011 “Free Health Screening for OFWs” held at the Marianas Business Plaza ground floor last Sunday.

The event was organized by the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in cooperation with the Filipino Volunteer Medical Team, CNMI Pharmacist Association, Hardt Eye Clinic, and Bayani Association.

Of the 275 who availed of the blood pressure and blood sugar checkups, only 65 of them had their vision checked.

Dr. Nathan Tan, Dr. Ester Kanayjorn, and the rest of the volunteers facilitated the event and provided the free medical services.

The event concluded with a party for all volunteers and staff.

The consulate expressed its “heartfelt appreciation” to all the volunteers for making the health screening program for 2011 a success.
