$25,000 bail each for 2 men arrested for ‘ice’ possession

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho yesterday maintained the $25,000 cash bail imposed on Juan Tydingco and Vince Pua, who were arrested Monday for alleged possession of methamphetamine or “ice.”

Camacho will appoint two private attorneys for Tydingco and Pua because the Office of the Public Defender conflicted out as they represent a witness in this case. Police earlier spelled Tydingco as Tydinco.

Preliminary hearing will be on Sept. 8 at 9am. Arraignment will be on Sept. 14 at 9am.

Chief Prosecutor Leonardo Rapadas appeared for the government.

Police said Tydingco, 39, and Pua, 23, were arrested after police detectives responded to an anonymous tip about an alleged drug transaction in the parking lot of Friendly Market in San Jose on Monday afternoon.

Police said one detective saw baggies with a crystal-like substance in plain view inside a black 2014 three-door Hyundai Veloster.

A police officer tested the substance, which was presumptive positive for methamphetamine, police said. The report did not mention the quantity of the “ice” found.
