Man allegedly chokes girlfriend for coming home early morning
A man allegedly pushed his girlfriend and choked her when she came home early morning and fell asleep in her car in Susupe on Sunday after drinking with her cousin at a bar.
Steve Mog, 35, was arrested and taken to Superior Court yesterday for bail hearing on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $1,500 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for May 2 at 9am.
Assistant public defender Tillman Clark was appointed as counsel for Mog. Assistant attorney general Chester Hinds appeared for the government.
Police Detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that on Sunday at 8:48am, two police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in Susupe, where a domestic violence was reported.
Kintoki said when the officers arrived, the alleged victim was crying and telling them that Mog pushed and choked her inside their apartment.
Kintoki said according to the alleged victim, she came home at 2:30am on Sunday from drinking with her cousin at True North Bar in Garapan.
When she knocked on the door of her apartment, no one answered so she proceeded to the house of her uncle in Susupe, where she rested.
She got up before sunrise and knocked again on the door of her apartment. When no one opened, she went back into her car, where she slept until around 9am.
She knocked on the door again and at that time, her son opened. When she later went inside the restroom, Mog followed her and asked where did she go that night.
The girlfriend explained that she went with her cousin at True North Bar. Mog then allegedly started pushing her into the room, but she refused because she knew he would beat her up.
When she tried to get away, Mog allegedly pushed her against the wall and chocked her with his two hands. She struggled and ran to the neighbors’ house, where she called the police.
Police responded and arrested Mog later that day.
