The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library has opened the registration period for their intermediate ukulele class.

Like their summer program, ukulele classes will be taught by Larry Lee, according to JKPL outreach services coordinator Celina C. Foreman said.

Classes will be every Tuesday beginning Jan. 26 and will be held from 4pm to 5pm at the JKPL-Children of our Homeland Library.

“Students planning on enrolling in the Intermediate Ukulele class must pass the beginner ukulele class,” Foreman said.

Class is open for members of the public aged 8 years old and above. They will accommodate a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 40 students and will be based on a “first come, first paid.”

The deadline to register is Feb. 1.

The class, which will have a total of eight hours and will run on eight weeks, is worth $50.

Prospective students must provide their own instrument and a folder to hold music sheets. Parents or guardians must sign a liability waiver form on behalf of their participating minor children. Those who wish to join must adhere to public library policies and procedures.

For more information, visit Joeten-Kiyu Public Library or call 235-7316 or 7322.
