Kicking off its first Saturday last Dec. 5, 2015, this year’s platinum sponsor is Best Sunshine International, Ltd., which donated $5,000 to event organizers and took a leading role in the preparations leading to its opening night.
Rita Chong, director of Best Sunshine’s corporate social responsibility team, said: “Best Sunshine recognizes the need to partner with organizations who believe in positive change. Only through these collaborative efforts are we able to build momentum necessary to make these positive and helpful changes now. We are reveling in the holiday spirit with Christmas in the Marianas. Each Saturday for the month of December, there is an activity that we are involved in. As the platinum sponsor, we have donated $5,000 to this cause. Corporate social responsibility as a team will be a part of every setup leading up to the main event. Also, every Saturday our judges are going to be judging and tabulating for the contest segments. Our biggest event is on Dec. 19, the float parade. Best Sunshine will be judging floats, as well as revealing our own float.”
CSR team member Regina Tomokane said: “We helped decorate and helped set up. Best Sunshine people helped decorated the stage as well. Tonight, we will be judging the wacky costume contest and also tabulating the Christmas tree contest results.”
Chong said her team will also be assisting the Department of Public Safety’s TOPS with the event Christmas Village. With this, TOPS will be doing a Decorate-A-Tree with a Cop program for the kids, which will be featured in the Christmas Village. Next Saturday, the Christmas Village will be adorned with decorations and props initiated by TOPS as well as a few of our own decorations.”
Gordon Marciano of Pacific Development Inc. and KKMP, who emcees’ this event, said, “Thank you Best Sunshine and CSR for helping us decorate our stage today. We appreciate all the help that you’re providing us for this year’s Christmas in the Marianas celebration. Most especially for being the platinum sponsor. Thank you very much, Best Sunshine.” (BSI)
