2020 Census of Guam launches Census Centers

TAMUNING, Guam—The 2020 Census of Guam is excited to announce the opening of Census Centers.
The Guam Census Office has partnered with the village mayors to provide alternate locations for the in-person interviews happening across the island. These locations, called “Census Centers”, will serve as trusted venues for census workers to interview residents who were unable to be interviewed at their home during the initial visit.
The 2020 Census of Guam is the once-in-a-decade population count of our island, providing a snapshot of our growing and diverse community. It collects basic counts of the island’s population, as well as specific demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics of Guam. During the interview, census workers will ask questions about every member of the household, including, age, race and ethnicity, income, education, and employment status. Census workers will also ask questions about the housing structure itself, such as the year it was built, number of rooms, and monthly utility costs.
The Census Centers in each village are recommended by the respective mayors and have been vetted by the Guam Census Office. Each center provides a private location where residents may complete their in-person interview. All Census Center interviews are by appointment only and must be arranged through the Guam Census Office.
When making the appointment, residents will need to provide the information from the Notice of Visit they received at their home. No walk-ins will be accepted.
