Younis Art Studio, Inc. has been named a major sponsor of the 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer. Major sponsorship is conferred on companies that donate $1,000-$2,999 in cash or services.

“The 2012 MMAC committee is extremely grateful for the unending support we’ve received from Younis Art Studio. Their support in the fight against cancer is admirable,” said 2012 MMAC overall committee chair Catherine Attao-Toves.

The Marianas March Against Cancer is the largest annual cancer fundraising event in the Northern Mariana Islands. It is the signature fundraising activity of the Commonwealth Cancer Association, a volunteer-led non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that ensures all funds raised are spent in the CNMI. Proceeds raised at the MMAC are spent on cancer awareness programs, cancer patient assistance and other cancer-related services.

“We have 12 confirmed teams who are currently selling luminaries and raffle tickets. Purchase a luminary in honor of a loved one who has won the fight against cancer or is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Or you may purchase a luminary in memory of a loved one who has lost the fight against this deadly affliction. Each luminary will be placed inside a white bag and lit throughout the twelve hour event. For more information contact luminary committee chairwomen Diana Benavente at 483-8427 or email dibenavente@hotmail.com or Kim Concepcion-Pritchard at 285-6904 or email kimconcepcion@yahoo.com,” said Attao-Toves.

“Our teams are also selling raffle tickets for only $5 each. Raffle prizes up for grabs include two roundtrip Economy Class tickets to Honolulu or the U.S. plus $300 in Travel Credit Vouchers courtesy of title sponsor Delta Air Lines,” said Attao Toves. “We will also raffle off a Samsung smart phone courtesy of title sponsor IT&E.”

The 2012 MMAC teams are 302nd FRG, Ahu, Ally/Saipan Community School, Aschoscho, Bodig, #Free Dave, IT&E/Saipan Southern High School, Marriage Encounter, Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Health Clinic/St. Jude Renal Care Facility, Take Care/Grace Christian Academy and Tan Holdings/Kagman High School.

The 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer will be held from 6pm to 6am on April 27-28 at the Hopwood Junior High School field in Chalan Piao. For more information call 285-1828, email attaoc@yahoo.com or visit www.ccamarianas.org. (MMAC)
