Twenty youth players from the various football clubs in the CNMI are heading to Hong Kong, beginning next month to attend Saipan Soccer School’s 2016 Summer Training Camp.

The selected players will go to Hong Kong in batches with the first group joining the camp set from June 20 to July 3. The second batch will have their sessions from July 7 to July 20. The camp is being held in collaboration with ChelseaFC Soccer School Hong Kong and will take place in one of the host’s training facilities in Kowloon.

Andrea Roberto leads the first group that will participate in the two-weeklong camp. Completing the list are Ericka Santiago, Paulynn Grace Joyce Jannah Casarino, Dorisalynn Ayuyu, Patricia Surima, Joannah Mishckha Carreon, Sharmaine Francisco, Jenny Ann Capayas, and Tinian’s Emiliana King.

Tinian has also a representative in the second group in John Mark Palilio, who will be joined by Joshua Allen Waldo, Kohtaro Goto, Maui Johnson, Akira Kadokura, David Myers Jr., Nazzir Altamirano, Alex Christian Achas, John Mark Anastacio and Daniell Mar Pablo.

The selected players, whose age ranged from 12 to 14, will be under the guidance of ChelseaFC coaches and will also play against highly-trained Hong Kong youth players.

While in the former British colony, the members of the visiting groups are expected to improve their individual and team skills, learn techniques, and develop leadership, self confidence, and camaraderie among their fellow CNMI players and their hosts. The two groups will also get a chance to visit Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park.

This is the second straight time that SSS sent CNMI players to Hong Kong for a summer training camp. Last year, 19 youth players from the different clubs had the privilege to train under the elite coaches from ChelseaFC and have scrimmage against Hong Kong players.

ChelseaFC Soccer School Hong Kong is headed by technical directors Leslie Santos and Luam Khen Koo, a former Hong Kong national player and Olympian, respectively.
