2 more NMC nursing grads pass the NCLEX in their first attempt

Two more Northern Marianas College graduates from the Class of 2017 just passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses in their first attempt.

YuGeun Oh and Gemmilie Eugenio have passed the NCLE-RN, joining the ranks of other NMC graduates who passed the difficult exam before them, including Mika Sablan and Lovely Lopez, whose achievement in passing the NCLEX was announced last week. 

The NCLEX-RN is the exam nursing graduates in the CNMI have to pass in order to be able to practice nursing. The exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing graduates in order to certify that they are equipped with the capability to apply entry level nursing practices correctly.

NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez said, “The list of NMC nursing graduates who are passing the NCLEX exam continues to grow! We want to congratulate YuGeun and Gemmilie on becoming the latest graduates to pass this difficult exam and look forward to hearing more about their success as medical professionals.”

We are confident that you are ready to meet any challenges before you and do your very best.”

YuGeun Oh said he never thought he would pursue nursing as an ultimate career in his life. But, he said, he saw nurses working so hard to save people’s lives and that fascinated him. From that moment on, he decided to become a nurse and be a part of the healthcare system.

“The NMC Nursing Program has helped me to fulfill my goal of becoming a nurse and helping people,” Oh said.

Eugenio said the support from her parents and friends helped her focus.

“I chose to pursue the nursing degree because it’s something that is stable. It will also provide me with skills and knowledge I can use to take care of my parents, and others who may need help and care,” Eugenio said. (NMC)
