2 men arrested in separate cases
Police arrested two men in separate burglary and domestic violence incidents in Chalan Kiya and Susupe on Monday.
David Palacios Deleon Guerrero, 27, was arrested for burglary and theft. A $15,000 cash bail was imposed for his temporary release.
Allan James Boyer Dela Cruz, 36, was detained for assault and battery and disturbing the peace. The Superior Court imposed a $5,000 cash bail.
According to court records, seven police officers responded on Monday morning to a reported burglary-in-progress at a house in Chalan Kiya. The officers surrounded the house and when one officer opened the back door, Deleon Guerrero came out.
Police learned that the house owner had just installed a surveillance camera after noticing that items had been missing from their house lately.
It was the house owner’s son who got notification from the surveillance camera about the burglary-in-progress. The son called the police. The house owner recognized the burglar as his nephew, Deleon Guerrero.
In the domestic violence case, a police officer was driving on Texas Road in Susupe when he noticed a vehicle that had stopped in the middle of the road on Monday at 6:52pm. The officer saw a man, later identified as Dela Cruz, holding the arm of a woman.
The officer noticed that the woman, Dela Cruz’s girlfriend, had scratches on the knees and elbow.
The victim told police that Dela Cruz slapped her and grabbed her purse, causing her to fall to the ground. He allegedly slammed her on the ground and dragged her about 20 feet.
The victim said that she and Dela Cruz had an argument earlier that day.
