2 juveniles arrested for alleged theft of rental vehicle

Two juveniles have been arrested by police after being identified by surveillance footage as the alleged suspects in a theft of a vehicle at the BW Car Rental in Garapan last July 27, 2019.

Officers of the CNMI Department of Public Safety that responded to case viewed the surveillance footage of the area and noticed two unknown individuals, who were later found to be juveniles.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho signed the arrest warrant for the two juvenile suspects on Aug. 20, 2019, at approximately 2:50pm, and set the bail at $10,000 each.

That same day, at about 4:10pm, the first juvenile was located, served with the warrant, and arrested. At approximately 4:16pm, the second juvenile was located, served with the warrant, and arrested. Both juvenile suspects were brought to the Commonwealth Health Center for clearance before being transported to the Department of Corrections Juvenile Detention Center.

Both juvenile suspects are facing charges of theft, burglary, criminal mischief, and theft of vehicle. (PR)
