The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation has passed two bills that will soon be transmitted to the Office of the Governor for signing.

House Local Bills 19-07 and 19-08 were passed by unanimous vote, after a thorough discussion at the House chamber on Capital Hill yesterday.

Delegation chair Rep. John Paul Sablan (R-Saipan) presided over the session.

“These approved bills will be directly transmitted to the Office of Governor for signing,” Sablan said after the session adjourned.

H.L.B 19-07 seeks to appropriate $40,000 in revenues generated from pachinko and poker license fees collected on Saipan.

Some changes were made on H.L.B 19-07, including the allocation of the funds to certain projects by the Department of Public Works, which will also be the expenditure authority.

Some areas of improvement include Alageta Road, Kannat Tabla, San Vicente, and Kagman.

The bill was introduced by Rep. Francis S. Taimanao (Ind-Saipan).

H.L.B 19-08 also seeks to appropriate $40,000 to improve Dandan Middle School, San Antonio Elemntary School, and Koblerville Elementary School. DPW is also the expenditure authority.

This bill was introduced by Rep. Antonio Sablan (Ind-Saipan).
