Staff Sgt. Dennis Eber, H Co, and Sgt. Bill Meeks, B Co, were deployed with Task Force Guam, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan in 2013, but did not return home in 2014 as they were receiving medical treatment at the Tripler Army Medical Center, in Hawaii, for injuries sustained while deployed.
As a surprise to the soldiers, and courtesy of the GIAA Fire and Rescue units, a water salute honored their service and welcomed them home.
As with all our soldiers, Eber and Meeks served our country and our island with honor and pride. We are excited that they are finally coming home and will ensure they receive the deserving hero’s welcome! (PR)
