Two-day Women’s Summit to start Wednesday
The two-day Women’s Summit is set to take place on Wednesday, March 30, to Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Kanoa Resort.
At the culmination of a month in which men and women across the CNMI have celebrated the advancement, achievement, and contributions of women across the Commonwealth, the CNMI Women’s Association is paying tribute to the critical role women play in raising public awareness of the many roles they play in developing the CNMI.
The 3rd Annual Women’s Summit: “Pledge For Parity: Why Women? Why Now? Why You?” will bring together leaders from the public and private sector and a variety of other fields—all of whom believe in the power of active engagement, education and gender parity to support the success and advancement of women both personally and professionally. “Through their experience and insights, the Summit aims to reinforce the influence of women as they continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement,” said Jacqueline Che, Women’s Summit chairperson.
For the first time, the Women’s Summit will welcome a delegation of women from the islands of Tinian and Rota to Saipan for the two-day event. “Because of the demand, we have extended the registration period to Tuesday, March 28 in order to allow for more attendees,” adds Erna Ngirchongor, overall chair of the 2016 Women’s Month.
Seating is capped at 175 and those interested are encouraged to register for the Women’s Summit no later than Tuesday, March 28, 2016 at noon by visiting www.cnmiwomen.org, contacting Patricia Mareham, CWA Case Worker, at 233-8978 Monday to Friday 1pm-5pm or by email p.mareham@cnmiwomen.org.
The CNMI Women’s Association is funded by the Community Services Block Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs-Department of Youth Services.
