Local yam growers will show their best produce in two competitions: a display of white and red yam (finger type and regular) and a cooking competition (desserts, yam kadu, boiled [saibuk]). A side program with exhibits from NMC-CREES, DLNR, and others is in the plans.

Registration for the competitions is free; prices will be announced. To register, contact JM Guerrero (Saipan Plant Center, Inc.) at 234-6959; DLNR at 322-9834; or Michael Ogo at NMC-CREES at 237-6847. Registration deadline is Dec. 11, 2014, at 12pm. (Saipan Sabalu Market Association)
