PDM Promoters Inc.’s first monthly cleanup for 2019 collected 600 lbs of trash around Paseo de Marianas, Coral Tree Avenue, American Memorial Park Road, Beach Road, and its connecting alleys last Saturday morning.

The cleanup effort consisted of 20 members from the Saipan Awaodori Team and seven Kinpachi Restaurant staff from 9am up to around noon Saturday.

“Monthly volunteer cleanup has been a special project of PDM Promoters Inc. for many years,” said PDM Promoters coordinator Sonia Siwa in a statement.

“One way of teaching the children that it is important to help keep their surrounding areas clean and beautiful and making the community better [is] through cleanup,” she continued.

The volunteers did all the bush-cutting for the area, including the disposal of scattered cigarette butts, bottles, and cans accumulated all over the area. PDM Promoters chief executive officer and director Misako Kamata led the cleanup effort.

“We thank TSL Foundation and T- Galleria as our sponsors. They help us to provide all the cleaning supplies for the cleanup,” Siwa continued.

She further expressed gratitude toward the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality and the Department of Public Works Division of Solid Waste Management for waiving the fees associated with the disposal of the collected 600 lbs of trash.
