19th Annual Sophia Walk on June 23
Registration is now open for the 19th Annual Sophia Walk that will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Registration will be ongoing until June 23 at 6:30am while the walk begins at 7am.
Named after former first lady Sophia Tenorio, the acronym SOPHIA also represents “Saipan Outdoor Physical Health Invigorating Adventure.”
Incorporating a new route for year 19, the course starts at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, which happens to be the main sponsor and organizer.
Participants will walk/run from the Fiesta beach north toward Micro Beach, joining the footpath toward Smiling Cove and up to the top of the Eloy S. Inos Peace Park and back. The course measures approximately 6 kilometers and will offer participants a raffle, refreshments plus an award for the “best hat.”
All proceeds from the event will benefit the CHCC Volunteers Association.
Early registration is $10 per person (ages 4 and over) on or before June 22 and increases to $15 per person on race day.
The first 500 participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, donated by the Tan Siu Lin Foundation.
Participants may register at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Century Hotel, and iShop. Registration forms can also be picked up at CHCC gift shop. Checks can be payable to CHCC Volunteers Association.
