Eighteen teams have already shown interest in the United Filipino Organization Basketball League that is tentatively set to kick off in the third week of November.

According to UFO president Mar Masilungan, 12 teams have already registered for the open division, while six squads have signed up to play in the masters category.

Masilungan added that they are still considering other teams and because of the large number of participants, they are looking to hold games in this year’s UFO caging at two venues—the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium and the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium. UFO league officials will meet with the representatives of the two facilities to discuss details of the competition and its kick-off date.

The UFO caging is making a comeback after a two-year absence.

Ali’i Blue Haus/Bayani was the last team to win the UFO league championship after beating 8th Division/MAFEA, 78-62, in the 2016 finale.
