15th CNMI Youth Congress to hold summit
The ongoing battle against “ice” will be the main topic of discussion when the 15th CNMI Youth Congress hosts its annual Youth Summit tomorrow from 8:30am to 3pm at the Napu room of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.
Professional guest speakers and each youth senator from the public and private school will be addressing the students who would attend the one-day summit.
The Department of Public Safety has declared a war against “ice” or methamphetamine, which has slowly become a menace to the community.
“Our mission is to have student leaders involved in serious discussions about issues affecting our island community,” said Youth Congress Speaker Thomas Manglona II.
Asked whether they plan to put the CNMI-Guam unification issue on the topic of discussion, Manglona said they could do so in the next session.
“And the [Marianas Visitors Authority] held their tourism summit so we are focusing on other things,” added Manglona.
The 30th Guam Youth Congress resumed their regular session last month where they discussed Resolution No. 17-30, which is “relative to opening the discussion of uniting the Chamorro people of Guam and the CNMI under one mutually respectful and understanding government.”
