The 5th Annual PIC Hafa Adai 5K last Saturday went down with a blast of colorful fun.

It started out with an early morning fire dance duo by PIC Clubmates and a zumba warmup for the runners to stretch out their limbs before going on their 5K journey.

When the participants got back to PIC, they were welcomed with Pepsi products from PTC. There was also a Magic Show from rising star, Neil Fama, who awed the crowd with his quick hands and awesome tricks.

Organizers had dozens of raffle prizes, including gift certificates from Kensington, Saipan Vegas, and PIC. Awesome gear from Triple J Wholesale, including a 32” TV, camping tents, and quality folding chairs, were raffled off as well.

A color elimination game was played where participants competed to win $300. This year’s winner was Clyde Sanchez, while Devin Galloway took the second place and won $100.

This year’s race drew 1,150 participants. Proceeds raised from this event will be given to Saipan Cares for Animals.

“Beth Pliscou and staff are really awesome people who give their time to take care of the animals who have no homes. I hope this event will help them find new homes and families for their animals,” PIC Sports and Events manager Keoni Ichihara said.

Ichihara would like to thank the following for supporting last weekend’s event: Kensington, Coral Ocean Golf Resort, E-Land, Pacific Trading Company, Saipan Vegas, Triple J Wholesale, and Let’s Move Marianas. (PR)
