A softball tournament was held during the St. Jude 25th Silver Festal Celebration over the weekend at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

Fourteen teams participated in the three-day tournament with champion Angel leading the field. Other squads that joined the competition were Akkari, Jada, Achu, Maamaaw, Crusaders, Chura Talu, Afaas, Mike 4G, Reere, Carida, Nobia, Manhoben 4IT and Pablo. Kyle and Gus Kaipat coordinated the event.

It was a great weekend seeing families, relatives, and friends all around the field cheering for their teams and having barbecues. The weather was just great with no rain to disrupt the celebration, according to a press statement from organizers.

Barbecue stands are all over the field, while the St. Jude Snack Stand was very busy especially with the kids lining up to buy their ice cups. The snack stand was able to make about $500 in sales. All proceeds will go to the St. Jude Renovation Project.

The St. Jude Parishioners and their Pastor, Rev. Fr. Rey Telic would like to thank the following for their support: softball tournament officials, Pacific Trading, Inc., and J.C. Tenorio Enterprises, donors of the St. Jude Snack Stand, the Division of Parks and Recreation Office, and everyone who took part and watched the tournament. (PR)
