11 students to get $26,948 scholarship funds

First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business will award a total of $26,948 in scholarships to 11 students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. Seven students from Guam and four students from Saipan will be the recipients of the First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business magazine Businesswoman of the Year scholarship awards.

Since 2006, the program has awarded a total of $207,377 in scholarships to deserving students in the community. Funds for the scholarships are raised through the annual Businesswoman of the Year gala. This year’s event was held on April 30, 2016. In addition to raising funds for these scholarships, the annual event recognizes women who make a difference in business.

Scholarships presentations to Guam students will be at 10am on Oct. 24 at the First Hawaiian Bank Maite Banking Cente.

Scholarship presentations to Saipan students will be at 2pm on Oct. 24 at the Northern Marianas College boardroom. (PR)
