1 traveler tests positive; Road to 80 goes to Rota

One more incoming traveler was confirmed positive for COVID-19. The individual was identified by travel screening and confirmed through arrival testing on Aug. 18. The case brings the CNMI’s total to 221 cases.

According to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., the individual has since then been quarantined and monitored, and CHCC’s Communicable Disease Investigation/ Inspection team has already initiated contract tracing for those who were in most immediate contact with the individual.

In related news, COVID-19 vaccination campaign Road to 80 arrived on Rota yesterday, and will select the winners of multiple raffles on Facebook Live at 5pm today, streaming from Pizzaria Bar and Grill. There will be $1,000 total for raffles exclusive to Rota residents, and one winner of $3,500 for Road to 80’s CNMI-wide raffle this week.

With the help of the Rota Mayor’s Office, the Road to 80 raffle that is exclusive to Rota residents will have one $500 raffle, two $250 raffles, and five $100 raffles. Additionally, Rota residents who receive their first vaccine shot from 8:30am to 10:30am at the Rota Health Center today will instantly receive $20 in cash. Similarly on Saipan, those who receive their first vaccine shots at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe will be able to instantly receive $20 in cash, while supplies last.

To qualify for Road to 80’s raffles, a person must be a CNMI resident and must have already received their first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson or Janssen vaccine.
