Hyatt spotlights admin professionals
It was fun, glamour, and great food for nearly 200 office secretaries, administrative personnel and their bosses during yesterday’s lunch at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s SandCastle.
It was no ordinary buffet as guests were treated to an exciting mini fashion show featuring SandCastle’s stage performers, plus raffle prizes that included a $495 worth Burberry handbag from DFS.
“We made this day special for them. It’s to honor their hard work and dedication to their job. It’s not everyday that they get to lunch out for almost three hours,” said Vivian Seman-Taitano, Hyatt Regency’s catering sales manager, who emceed the mini fashion show.
The Administrative Professionals’ day event was held from 11am to 2pm.
Among those in attendance were Superior Court associate judges David Wiseman, Kenneth Govendo, Juan Lizama and their staff as well as Public Health Secretary Kevin Villagomez, his wife Lina Villagomez, and DPH deputy secretary Lynn Tenorio.
Food & Beverage assistant director Daryl Thong said the turnout was “overwhelming.”
“We’re so happy. We’re inspired to do this again next year,” said Thong.
Seman-Taitano said that, due to the big show of support from the community including sponsors, it is likely that the hotel would revive the mini fashion show.
She said this was done years back at Hyatt’s Gilligans, which closed about five years ago. Gilligan’s disco is now the location of the SandCastle.
Thong said his team decided to hold the lunch special at SandCastle because “it’s an excellent catwalk venue.”
Five gorgeous SandCastle performers—Victoria, Cristy, Shey, Grace, and Rheana—stunned the crowd as they walked the runway in their island wear, professional wear, and island formal.
Seman-Taitano said the clothes worn by the models were from Pena House while the sunglasses were courtesy of Hardt Eye Clinic.
Other sponsors were Pacific Wine and Spirit, Marpac, DFS Galleria, and Avon through local representative Seman-Taitano.
Meantime, the grand prize—the Burberry handbag —went to Glenda Palacios. Other guests received gift certificates worth $100 to $200 from other sponsors.
