Meetings set for arts fest vendors
Preparations for next week’s Flame Tree Arts Festival are in full tilt, with lights being installed at American Memorial Park, parking areas being laid out, and arrangements for the welcoming of off-island guests being finalized.
To prepare vendors, all food vendors who require food handlers certification are required to attend a food handlers certification workshop on Friday, April 21, 2006, at 6pm, at the Office on Aging conference room in Chinatown.
Also, all vendors—food, artists, and others—are required to attend a meeting on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 6pm at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss logistics, traffic, and other concerns.
The Flame Tree Arts Festival is Micronesian’s largest annual arts and culture celebration. This year’s festival will be a four-day event, opening on the evening of April 27 and running through April 3.
Booths, stage performances, and a canoe exhibit will be held beachside at American Memorial Park.
Related festival events will also be held at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, and Fiesta Resort and Spa.
Off-island delegates are expected from Tinian, Rota, Guam, Palau, Marshall Islands, Yap, and Hawaii. (PR)
