Triple J throws in ’06 Hyundai Accent for hole-in-one prize
The 4th Annual NMC Foundation Open got another big boost for attracting players this Saturday after Triple J Motors joined the list of supporters and sponsored a the hole-in-one challenge.
Triple J had confirmed its support of the tournament as soon as organizers began putting the event together, and on Tuesday, the local car dealership showcased a 2006 Hyundai Accent, which will be the prize for the hole-in-one task in the par-three hole No. 3.
“We’ve supported the tournament in the past and we hope to continue to support the college and the foundation in the future,” said Triple J general manager Jay Jones. “This year is no different and we’re happy to have the 2006 Hyundai Accent available now. It just came out, it’s a new vehicle and we thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce it to the public through the tournament.”
Jones explained that Triple J’s support of the tournament is due to its confidence in the college’s system.
“We feel its important to help the college in general because so many of our young people on the island come up through the NMC system and it help create stronger workforce, stronger employees for us, and stronger community in general. It just makes sense,” he said.
The Hyundai Accent is valued at about $13,000 depending on options.
“It’s a very affordable vehicle, it gets 36 miles per gallon—great gas mileage for the island…it’s the perfect car for the islands. It’s affordable and it’s easy to own,” Jones said.
The tournament unfolds this Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course, with a 7am shotgun start time.
The tournament will feature competition in six flights—Championship, A, B, C, Women’s, and Seniors—with each of the top three finishers in each flight receiving cash and a trophy.
