The season is winding down and after tonight, the finals of the 2006 Island-wide Village Youth Basketball League will be set.

Already in the title game, which will be played on Friday, is coach Ray Duenas’ San Antonio Sixers I squad.

The team will either face No. 2 Garapan Rollers I or Chalan Kanoa Kings, who will battle this evening at the Garapan Basketball Court in the second semifinals bout of the postseason. The Kings advanced to the semifinals after beating the Sixers II, 31-30, last Tuesday.

The team that falters will face the CTSI Logistics-backed H.O.M Saints for third place tomorrow evening, April 20.

The Saints lost to the Sixers I, 51-45, last week.

If the G-Rollers I prevail, it will set up a rematch of last year’s finals as the Sixers I are comprised of the coaching staff and players of defending champion San Antonio 69ers.

An awards banquet will be held shortly after the championship game, with league organizers recognizing team and individual efforts.
