First-ever Aon Insurance tennis tourney locks up 90 entries
Saipan Tennis Association received a total of 90 entries for the singles competition of the inaugural Aon Insurance Tennis Tournament set to start tomorrow at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.
STA vice president-internal Nelia Luna said 74 entries were submitted for the men’s division, while the women’s division received 16.
The men’s 3.0 had the most number of entries with 26 followed by men’s 2.0 with 16, men’s 4.0 with 14, men’s 4.5 with 10, men’s open with eight, women’s 3.0 with six, and women’s 4.0 and open with five entries apiece.
Luna said the seeding for the singles competition is not yet available for distribution as its release is still awaiting approval from the tournament director.
The singles competition will be followed by the doubles the next week. It will feature play in men’s, women’s, and mixed open, men’s, women’s, and mixed 4.0, and men’s, women’s, and mixed 3.0. STA will hold a draw for the doubles and mixed doubles competition on April 23, 6pm at the AMP clubhouse.
