NMC’s PTK Chapter inducts new officers, members
The Northern Marianas College’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society held an induction ceremony on April 8 at the Student Center in Building J to welcome its new members and officers.
NMC president Tony V. Deleon Guerrero spoke on behalf of the NMC community in congratulating the newest members and officers of the group.
The NMC PTK Chapter officers for 2006 and 2007 are president Lee Castro, vice president Rose Marie Jones, secretary of public relations Joleen T. Salas, secretary of recording Leah M. Hocog, secretary of membership Elsa N. Yoshida, and treasurer Jacklyn E. Echon.
Inducted as full members are Amanda B. Angel, Maria Christina E. Ano, Roxanna A. Arriola, Patrick Castillon, Jean M. Duenas, Jacklyn E. Echon, Justina W. Foster, Leah M. Hocog, Dean A. Manglona, Joleen T. Salas, and Elsa N. Yoshida. Provisional Members are: Sandra Lynn M. Arnold, Karen T. Cabrera, Nanette A. Magallanes, Francine D. Pangelinan, and Ann Marie S. Satur.
“If you see these students, take time to congratulate them for their academic honor,” Deleon Guerrero said.
He also praised Dr. Debra Cabrera, Larry Lee and Frank Sobolewski for their assistance in serving as advisers to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The Phi Theta Kappa has recognized academic excellence since 1918. It is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 1.5 million members and 1,200 chapters located in the 50 United States, U.S. territories, Canada, and Germany.
