Williams wins April bowling tiara
Emi Williams won her first Pepsi Queen of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament of the year after rolling a four-game series total of 754 pinfalls Sunday at the Capital Bowling Center.
Williams, who also bowled in the monthly competition’s second day Monday, was on target early and knocked down 183 pins in her first game. She continued to be in top form in the second and toppled a tournament-high 227 pins. The veteran kegler slowed down a bit and managed only 169 in her third game before capping her evening with a 175 for a four-game average of 118.5.
Yho Villavicencio came closest to beating Williams Monday but she came 15 pins short of besting the mark after rolling a four-game series of 212, 187, 172, and 162 to finish with 739 pinfalls, which is good for a 184.75 average.
February and March Queen of the Lanes Ron Cal came in third this time following a pinfall total of 679, or 169.75 average. Cal came away with scores of 149, 185, 147, and 198 during her four-game series played Monday.
For their efforts, the three were rewarded with cash prizes with Williams going home with $70 and Villavicencio and Cal pocketing $35 and $20, respectively.
Diana Camacho and Sophie Fejeran just missed on the money list after the two finished in fourth and fifth place. Camacho bowled on Sunday and put together scores of 159, 168, 164, and 165 to finish with 656 pinfalls, while Fejeran had her turn Monday and went 169, 172, 156, and 157, which was good enough for a 654 total.
