Jeremy Williams tops April youth roll-off

Jeremy Williams put together two games of 200-and-over pinfalls to win the April Prince/Princess of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament last Sunday at the Capital Bowling Center.
Williams started the tournament on the right foot, bowling 204 in his first trip to the wooden lanes.
After missing a beat in the second game, which resulted in a pedestrian 129, he bounced right back with a 207 before knocking down a 182 in his fourth and final game. He wound up toppling 722 pins for a four-game series average of 180.5.
J.C. Vales improved on her fourth-place finish a month ago by taking runner-up honors with her pinfall total of 707 and 176.75 average. She had a 155 in her first game, a 181 in her second, a tourney-high 218 in her third, and a 158 in her last.
Mike Camacho was third after rolling a series of 155, 169, 190, and 105, which was good for a 619 total and a 154.75 average.
Making up the rest of the Top 5 were Jack Cruz and March second runner-up Joshua Alegado, who fired identical 604 totals. Cruz strung together scores of 148, 160, 153, and 143, while Alegado rolled a 150, 114, 174, and 166. Both of them averaged 151 pinfalls for the day.
A total of 16 youth bowlers, who are not taking part in regular bowling tournament and averaging less than 160, participated in the monthly roll-off.
The first day of the April Pepsi King of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament, meanwhile, saw 2004 King of the Lanes Mark “The Shark” Halstead top the leaderboard with a four-game series total of 835 pinfalls, good enough for a 208.75 average.
In the Queen of the Lanes Tournament, Emi Williams is currently holding fort with a series score of 754 or 188.5 pinfall average.
The final day of the two-day tournament concluded last night, but results were still not available as or press time.
The Prince/Princess of the Lanes as well as the Pepsi King and Queen of the Lanes tenpin bowling tournaments are organized by the Saipan Bowling Association.
