One of the youngest patients at the Tinian Health Center received a surprise Christmas gift when she was presented with a brand new “Hello Kitty” pink bicycle recently.
Anabel Reyes Kiyoshi was presented by the center’s staff with the charming bike in behalf of 9-month-old Kate Manglona, daughter of Atty. Janet King and Joshua Manglona of Tinian.
Anabel’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Kiyoshi, expressed their appreciation to the center and most especially to Kate and her parents.
“It is indeed an honor for Anabel to have received such a beautiful bicycle, very thoughtful of Kate and her parents lifting the Christmas spirit of our daughter,” said Mr. Kiyoshi, a member of the Tinian Fire Department EMS.
The center’s staff nurse Porsha H. Palacios said that the generosity of Kate and her parents touched their hearts.
Joining Anabel and her parents during the presentation by acting resident director Freddy Hofschneider were visiting physician Dr. Patrick Thong, and staffers Juan B. Pangelinan, Arley Long, Porsha Palacios, Rodney Cabarles, Tessa Diaz, Maria Cecilia Cabarles, Hazel Lentaja, Sydney Biton, Phennie Cabarles, and Kayla Palacios.
Kate Manglona won the coveted 20-inch pink Sanrio bike during the Lollipops raffle draw on Saipan recently.
Kate’s win, King said, made them feel very blessed that they decided as a family to donate the Sanrio bike to a young girl from Tinian “with a very critical medical need.”
“I think Kate will be very happy about that. It’s never too early to teach her about being generous,” King earlier told Saipan Tribune, adding that they will take care of the expenses to be incurred in shipping the bike to the recipient on Tinian.
