Hyatt’s Kili Café celebrates Tagaman with special lunch
Hyatt Regency Saipan will be celebrating one of the longest running sports events in the Marianas, the 17th Tagaman Triathlon, with a promotion it proudly refers to as “… a hearty, healthy lunch buffet.”
The Tagaman Lunch Special will have fresh and healthy offerings starting with organic and greens for appetizers, fajitas, burritos, and a wide array of lean meats at its live station, banana mint milk shakes and other exotic fruit juices at its yogurt smoothies section, and a dessert specially concocted for the event by Chef Tom.
Hyatt Assistant Director of Food & Beverage Daryl A. Thong said the hotel came up with the special lunch buffet promotion to honor the triathletes participating in the triathlon, as well as celebrate the Tagaman.
“The reason for the Tagaman Lunch Special is to make people aware of the local event that is happening on that that day and try to support as much as possible all local events happening on the island. We want the public to know that Hyatt participates in these events. The buffet is ‘heart healthy’ and promotes good living with quality products that are good for the health,” he said.
Thong added that the Tagaman Lunch Buffet Special is not only geared toward the hotel’s local clientele but is also being offered to off-island guests.
“We target local for sure; however, tourists can also share in this great event and benefit from its bounty. In everything we do, we do not single out the different market segments. We always make sure everyone shares the experience and get the best out of the money they spend in our restaurant,” he said.
Hyatt’s assistant director of food and beverage also said that, besides eating right, dine-in guests also get to help the local agriculture industry by indirectly supporting the farmers that grow the produce on island.
“We have always promoted healthy living. The items we use are fresh and we believe in supporting local farmers. Also, we have always used quality products to promote good and healthy living. In this buffet if you like light and easy with all the additional benefits, this is the way to go,” he said.
Salad and appetizers prepared by Executive Chef Gabriel Colombo for the Tagaman Lunch Special are truly mouth-watering and include dishes like organic greens with berried and walnut orange dressing, grilled vegetables with basil essence, Marianas seafood salad with seaweed and lemon extra virgin oil, green tea coated garden pickles sushi rolls, and marinated tuna with mango and nuts with ice fish chips.
Double boiled chicken, ginger, and shitake mushroom soup will be served at the buffet’s soup counter, while the live station will feature healthy burritos, choice of chicken, vegetables, beef and seafood, salsa verde, fruits chutney, avocado dip and salsa, and enchiladas with three cheeses. Dessert will be the incomparable Tropical Infusion.
The Tagaman Lunch Special will be offered tomorrow, April 8, from 11:30am to 2pm at the Garapan landmark’s Kili Café.
