AGO files various charges vs 19 persons

The Attorney General’s Office filed yesterday separate criminal cases against 19 persons for various offenses on Saipan.

Charged were Edward Robert, David Peter Limes, Murillo D. Hernandez, Manuel Rivera Mesa, Remedios Concepcion Millena, Alfonso Funz Riumd, Hong Fei Wang, Ling Li, Roland Augustine, Chung Mei Li, Hong Ying Lu, Albert Kaipat,Joaquin I. Pangelinan, and Marvin L. Somol.

The other defendants charged were John Lisua, Joseph N. Lisua, Gregorio Teregeyo, Johani D. Daproza, and Jesse James Iglecias Lisua.

All defendants were summoned to appear and answer the charges in Superior Court. Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. filed the cases.

Robert was charged with assault and battery for allegedly striking his wife in the head on March 7, 2006.

Limes was charged with indecent exposure for reportedly exposing his genitals in front of a woman on Jan. 27, 2006.

Hernandez was charged with assault and battery for allegedly hitting a man in the face with a champagne glass.

Mesa was charged with two counts of assault and a count of resisting arrest. He allegedly attempted to hit a woman with a chair and resisted arrest when two police officers tried to place handcuffs on him on March 12, 2006. He was also accused of throwing a small container at a minor on Oct. 28, 2005.

Millena was charged with theft for allegedly stealing a roll of Lucky Seven stickers valued at $350 from the Shell Gas Station in Gualo Rai in October or November 2005.

Riumd was charged with theft for allegedly stealing sunglasses and cosmetics valued at $70 from Joeten Hafa Adai in Garapan on Feb. 11, 2006.

Wang was charged with disturbing the peace for allegedly annoying a woman on Feb. 5, 2006.

Ling Li was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. The defendant allegedly caused disturbance at Fiesta Hotel and struggled with three police officers who tried to arrest her on Feb. 16, 2006.

Augustine was charged with disturbing the peace and assault for allegedly threatening to kill a man on Jan. 21, 2006.

Chung Mei Li and Hong Ying Lu were charged with disturbing the peace for allegedly annoying a woman.

Kaipat, Pangelinan, and Somol were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into the San Jose Church on Feb. 20, 2006.

In addition, Pangelinan and Somol were charged with theft, burglary, and criminal mischief. Kaipat was also charged with receiving stolen property. The defendants allegedly stole 15 bottles of altar wine and computer speakers.

John Lisua, Joseph Lisua, and Teregeyo were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and theft, burglary, and theft by unlawful taking, for allegedly breaking into Hakubotan and stealing spools of brass wire cables on Feb. 25, 2006. In addition, John Lisua was charged with illegal possession of controlled substance after police allegedly found marijuana from him.

Daproza was charged with three counts of assault and battery, one count of assault, and one count of criminal mischief. He allegedly punched his wife and hit her with a plastic chair on March 20, 28, and 30, 2006.

Jesse Lisua was charged with theft and theft by deception for allegedly stealing a digital camera from a relative and selling it for $30 at GEC Pawnshop on March 18, 2006.
