Garapan Rollers II brings down Sparks

Led by Jason Palacios’ hot hands, Garapan Rollers II earned their second win in five starts at the expense of the Sparks, 37-24, in the 2006 Inter-Village Youth Basketball League Thursday night at the San Roque Basketball Court.
Palacios went to work early and teamed up with Mike Bondoc to help Garapan to a 16-7 lead after the opening eight minutes of the contest.
G-II players relaxed a bit in the second with Palacios scoring just a deuce, but just the same they headed into lemontime on top by nine points, 11-20.
Palacios got his groove back at the start of the second half, unloading all six markers for his team, as Garapan continued to control the tempo of the ballgame and entered the fourth and final quarter ahead 26-19.
Sparks had no life in them in the last eight minutes of the contest and with Palacios firing four more, G-II rolled to the 13-point victory.
Palacios wound up with 16 points to pace Garapan, while the 0-3 Sparks were led by the eight points of Dave Jones and Dominic Reyes.

Sparks 24 – Jones 8, Reyes 8, Camacho 4, Gapor 1, Sablan 1.
Scoring by quarters: 16-7, 20-11, 26-19, 37-24.
