5 Chamber scholarships up for grabs for seniors
Due to the hard work and generous donations of member businesses, as well as the public’s great response to its fundraising events, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be awarding up to five scholarships to deserving high school seniors in 2006.
In order to qualify, applicants must meet the following qualifications
* enrolled in a CNMI public, private, or parochial secondary school with senior status;
* have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher at the time of application;
* have completed either the SAT or ACT college entrance exam;
* submit two letters of recommendation, at least one of them from an educator;
* prepare a 1,000 word essay on “How I Will Use My Education to Improve the CNMI”
* participate in an interview with the SCC review committee.
Scholarships will only be awarded after a successful applicant provides proof of acceptance to a college or university. Scholarship payment is made directly to the institution. The scholarship is a one-year only payment.
