All Filipinos are invited to the 4th Global Filipino Networking Convention set from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 2006. This year’s theme is “100 years of the Filipino Diaspora: Hawaii and beyond.”

The event will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. The event will gather business, professional, social, political and religious groups to hold their annual and national meetings, seminars and reunions. They will all come together and extend their network throughout the plenary sessions, receptions and festivities.

“Building on the successes of the 1st Global Convention attended by some 4,000 delegates in San Francisco, the 2nd convention in Manila in 2003, and 3rd convention in Cebu in Jan. 2005, this 4th Global Convention will again be a gathering of Global Filipinos, with ‘kababayans’ from the U.S. and Canada, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia,” said the invitation letter posted at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office bulletin board in Susupe.

The global convention will be a venue where global Filipinos will bring to the table their concerns, issues, experiences and expertise. The meeting will also forge a consensus on dreams and goals of Filipinos in the diaspora as part of the Centennial celebration of the arrival of the Filipino sacadas in Hawaii.

The National Federation of Filipino American Associations will convene the 4th Global Convention chaired by Loida Nicolas Lewis. Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and other notable Filipinos worldwide have also been invited to the conference.

Conference fees of $200 for early birds will include all conference materials, lunch and gala dinner. Only $80 will be charged for those who will join during the gala dinner only.
