After kicking off its inaugural season with a bang, the Northern Mariana Islands Football (Soccer) Association is just a day away from its yearend tournament as teams from all five divisions will storm onto the fields of American Memorial Park this weekend to determine the pitch powers once and for all.

The association that took over the remnants of the Commonwealth Youth Soccer Organization has doubled the meager 150 membership to more than 300 players in just a few months thanks to strong leadership from the motivated board of directors.

Details from all divisions are still being hammered out, but games will stat as early as 9am and span the better part of Saturday and Sunday before all of the dust settles. It is even possible that some of the action will spill over to Tuesday, Feb. 28, as well to decide the 18-and-Under division crown.

In the event that Mother Nature is unable to comply with the weather needs of the league, the teams will reconvene the following weekend, on Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5.
