The 2006 World Organized Rocball High School League playoffs kick off today at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Having the honor of starting the playoffs are Ochobu and the Lagooners as they will square off at 11:30am. The two teams lost only two matches in the regular season and will battle in a best-of-three series, with the winner advancing to face either defending champion Mwaliyas or No. 4 seed Black Magic, who are in the other half of the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Rocball creator Jim Feger indicated that the sport continues to gain interest around the world as the Rocball Federation of India is planning to visit Saipan in the near future.

In an email message to Feger, Dr. M. KR. Agarwal said members of the federation are interested in learning more about the game and promoting the sport in their country.

“We would like to make a visit to the native place of Rocball and have a live experience of the game with our own team,” Agarwal told Feger.

Agarwal also requested that Feger assist him in determining the cost of airfare, airport charges, local travel, lodging and boarding.

Feger is currently in communication with the Agarwal in hopes of promoting the relationship between the two federations as well as the sport.
