Viva Las Vegas!

Bright lights turned to Aqua Resort Club in Achugao last Saturday night as the Rotary Club of Saipan hosted Las Vegas Night.

The island’s high-heeled crowd and people who just wanted to have a good time not only savored an evening of excellent food and beverages but games of chance that are always the order of the day come Las Vegas Night.

President James Whitt expressed his gratitude for the support of the more than 500 people who attended the event.

He said the turnout was so unexpected that they had to reuse old tickets to accommodate guests that wanted to attend Las Vegas Night, which featured a bumper crop of prizes the biggest of which, a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GL, was won by Eric Smith.

Other winners include Felipe Pedernal, who won $500 cash, Warren Villagomez $1,000, and Ruth Pangelinan and Kelly Phillips, who each won $2,500.

Whitt said this year’s Las Vegas Night was hoping to raise at least $30,000 with a net of $10,000 in order for the club to continue contributing to the community.
