G-Rollers I flattens Sixers III
Garapan Rollers I waltzed past Sixers III in the second play date of the 2006 Inter-Village Youth Basketball League Thursday night at the Garapan Basketball Court.
The home team came out strong and got four points each from Jason Palacios and Rainier Deleon Guerrero to lead 10-2 after the first quarter.
Garapan slowed down a bit in the second but it hardly mattered as Sixers III continued to fire blanks and trailed by nine points, 5-14, at the break.
Sixers III brought a more effective offensive punch in the third and outscored Garapan, 6-2, and in the process trimmed their deficit to just five points, 11-16, heading into the final eight minutes of the ballgame.
G-Rollers, however, were not ready to become the victim of the season’s first upset as they exploded for 24 points in the final canto, while limiting Sixers III to a measly six points, to win by 25.
Mike Bondoc was the highpoint man for G-Rollers with 16 points, while Jason Palacios added 12. Reinhold Ferrer wound up with four markers to lead Sixers III.
