While the Saipan Softball Association is wrapping up the Men’s and Women’s Island-Wide Softball Leagues, it is keeping an eye to the future by planning the 2006 Business Slow-Pitch and Women’s Fast-Pitch Leagues.

The organization famous for its underhanded activity under the lights at the Oleai Sports Complex will get started with a pair of meetings aimed at laying the ground work for the upcoming season.

In observance of tonight’s recognition of the CNMI’s athletes and coaches of the year, the meetings that were originally scheduled for tonight and tomorrow night have been moved to next week.

The Business League will host its first meeting next Thursday, Feb. 23 in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium at 6pm, while the Women’s League will follow suit on Friday, Feb. 24, at 6pm as well.

According to SSA president Ray Palacios, anyone interested in forming a team or joining a squad should make their way to the meetings. Both leagues will be conducted under the lights at Tan Ge Softball Field, and Palacios said that in the event that players and teams are not forthcoming, the SSA will move on again to provide Saipan with another round of ball.
