GTC PTA MEETING TODAY
Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School would like to inform all parents/guardians that there will be a PTA meeting today, Feb. 15, 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. PTA secretary Pat B. Camacho is urging everyone to attend the meeting. (PR)
MHS CLASS OF ’96 REUNION MEETING
The Marianas High School Class of 1996 is calling on all alumni to attend a meeting to discuss its upcoming reunion.
The meeting will take place on Friday, Feb. 17, 7pm at the residence of Robin Sablan in Kagman.

DD MEETING ON FRIDAY
CNMI Council on Developmental Disabilities first quarter board membership meeting will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Sui Lian private room. (PR)
OES BULLETIN OF FEBRUARY ACTIVITIES
This is to inform the parents and guardians of OES students about the changes to our school monthly calendar for the month of February 2006.
– Feb. 16, Thursday: 3rd Quarter Mid-Progress Report.
– Feb. 18, Saturday: Yard Sale from 8am to 12pm, OES campus.
– Feb. 21-22, Tuesday-Wednesday: There will be classes for students and teachers.

BUDDY WALK SET FOR FEB. 18
The CNMI Association of Families with Disabilities wishes to invite the community to join the first ever “BUDDY WALK” on Feb. 18, 2006, starting at 6am at Garapan Fishing Base.
Proceeds will be used directly for various unmet needs of individuals with disabilities and for planned events in 2006 to benefit such individuals further. The first 100 participants will get a free T-shirt.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated by the CNMI Association of Families with Disabilities. Contact these officers for more information: Lisa Aldan (483-5481), Vicky Tudela (664-7044), or Rhea Chong (664-7042).
IMPORTANT FEBRUARY DATES AT GES
February is gearing up to be a stimulating month at the Garapan Elementary School, full of academic activities that will keep everyone busy.
This month the school emphasizes the MegaSkill of Initiative and the ESLR “Resource Seeker.” February is also Math and Science Awareness Month at GES, so these skills will be all the more useful for its students to learn.
– Feb. 13-17: GES Counselor’s Appreciation Week (Do something nice for you counselor this week)
– Feb. 15: GES Spelling Bee Contest at 6pm, cafeteria
– Feb. 17: 3rd Quarter Mid-Progress Report Day
– Feb. 20: President’s Day, No classes
– Feb. 23: PTA meeting @ 6:30pm, cafeteria
In addition to these dates, Boys/Girls soccer tryouts and practice will begin, as well as preparations for the Academic Challenge Bowl. Your child will be busy with President’s Day trivia and Math & Science projects. The 3rd Grade Project Familia lessons will begin for those families involved in learning how to stay strong and healthy. The African American Cultural Preservation Committee will be visiting our school to teach students about Black History. We have entered the DEQ Recycling Contest this month, so if you have any recyclable materials that you’d like to donate in our name, bring it to the transfer station and tell them its for Garapan Elementary School. You can also help us raise much needed funds by eating pizza for Valentine’s Day (25 percent of the profit will go to us) and by clipping BoxTops for your child to turn in. Thank you to Java Joe’s and Pacific Amusement for their Education Tax Credit donations of $2,000 and $5,000.
