Belau Softball League starts this weekend
While the best of Saipan’s hitters and fielders finished polishing up the diamonds at the Oleai Sports Complex during the 4th Annual Crime Stoppers Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament, they are soon to have another venue to debut their talents as organizers are less than a week away from opening day of the Belau Softball League.
Before any of the weekend warriors take the field on top of the hill their skippers will have to draw up the line-up and bring the $500 registration fee to tonight’s coaches meeting in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium at 6pm.
According to BSL president Brian Adelbai, the meeting is just the first step for the underhanded artists as the first pitch will arc its way toward home plate this weekend on Sunday, Feb. 19,
Slots for the league usually fill up fast, and with organizers allowing only 12 teams for the 2006 season, players need to get on the ball soon if they hope to contend for the Belau title.
