five-day live-fire training on FDM

The Emergency Management Office said yesterday that a five-day live fire training will be conducted next week by the U.S. military on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla.

EMO said the training, to be held on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants, will last from Feb. 13 to 17 from 9am To 5pm.

EMO advised the public, particularly fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, to take extra precautionary measures around this area during the training.

“The cooperation and understanding of the general public is greatly appreciated,” said EMO in its advisory.

EMO encouraged people who may have questions to contact its operations section at 322-9528 to 29 extension 23, 24, 31, VHF Marine Radio Channel 16, and HF-Single Side Band Radio on 5.205.0.
