Korean couples flock to WEDDEX show
The Marianas Visitors Authority recently participated in the Spring WEDDEX travel trade show in Korea, providing valuable exposure for the CNMI to the more than 60,000 visitors who saw the show.
WEDDEX is held biannually, with one exhibition in the Spring and another in Fall. Organizers of the five-day event said the show welcomed a total of 61,168 visitors.
The event targeted couples and honeymooners who were actively searching for destinations that catered to their specialized needs. The Marianas is a potential destination for the bridal and honeymoon market segments from Korea. In addition, the MVA conducted courtesy visits to Asiana Airlines as well as a number of travel agencies.
A travel seminar was also conducted together with the Marianas Resort & Spa, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Saipan Grand Hotel, and the Saipan World Resort.
“WEDDEX is one avenue where the Marianas presence creates awareness of the destination and its offerings for this forte. Additionally, we hope that all of our partners in Korea will continue to contribute to the growth of the Marianas tourism industry with increased travel from Korea,” said MVA marketing manager Wayne Pangelinan.
