If it’s good for Saipan, it’s good for Guam

I heard the new governor of Saipan, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial’s radio interview concerning a solid waste system. This system, I believe is called Palingenesis, converts solid waste into building materials and fertilizer at little expense.

It is also very environmentally safe and sound. One other factor is that it will generate a positive income that the island of Saipan desperately needs. I have been a resident of Guam for over 20 years, and can attest to the grave problems we have with the Ordot Dump.

If Saipan is considering such a system, why not Gov. Felix Camacho, do the same for Guam? Guam has been ordered to close the Ordot Dump by the U.S. EPA, and implementation of this system would benefit and assist us several ways. First, it will allow us to clean up our beautiful island. Second, this will allow us to start a new industry that is safe and approved by the U.S. EPA, bringing additional income to us.
