The year seems to be a good one for the Chiefs in the ongoing Budweiser/Bud Light Bowlliards Tournament, with the team starting off with two wins in two games.

With Chris Calarson, Reek Rengiil, Bern Ikeda, Ron Chisato and Annie Tesiro putting on the right touch, the Chiefs managed to put on a good show last Monday at the USSP Club to beat the Indians, 54-38.

The Indians got first crack at the table with Javier Olopai knocking down two points, but the Chiefs quickly took advantage as Chlarson knocked in six balls for the early lead.

The Indians continued to have trouble on the table as Gary Orpiano pocketed two balls, and the Chiefs took advantage of their golden opportunity when Reek Rengiil buried eight points for a 14-4 lead.

The Chiefs maintained the 10-point lead after three frames and padded their lead when Chisato barely rolled up a strike when he drilled in nine points.

Ace Elameto helped bring the Indians closer with six points in the fifth frame, but the Chiefs were still comfortably ahead as they led by 13 points, 31-18.

With only five frames remaining, the two teams tried to pick up their game, however, the Indians were not able to threaten the Chiefs, who outscored their opponents, 23-20, to rest of the way for the win.

Reek Rengiil had another strong performance and led the Chiefs with 16 points while Ikeda and Chisato finished with 14 and 12 points. Chlarson and Tesiro chipped in nine and three points.

Orpiano rebounded and finished strong to lead the Indians with 11 points while Elameto and Mei Rengiil contributed 10 and seven points. Olopai and Rose Phillips supported with six and four points.

Ikeda and Chisato both earned special recognition as both almost recorded strikes. Both pocketed their first nine balls before falling short on the 10th.

With the win, members of the Chiefs went home with Bud Family prizes.

The Budweiser/Bud Light Bowlliards Tournament is held every Monday night at USSP Club in Garapan, and is open to all interested players.

Phillips said as a treat for all players, there is a special price for Bud Family beverages. In-house treat also includes beverages for under a dollar from 9pm to 10pm.
