Three more agency heads retire
Three more agency heads are now holding their positions in an acting capacity after filing for retirement.
Fermin Atalig, who has retired, will serve as acting secretary of the Department of Finance effective Dec. 31, 2005 through Jan. 8, 2006.
Rodolfo Pua has also been designated as acting director for the Emergency Management Office effective Dec. 24, 2005 through Jan. 8, 2006.
Also serving in an acting capacity through Sunday is Thomas A. Tebuteb, the governor’s special assistant for administration.
The three officials, among others, have vacated their posts to give way to the incoming administration of Gov.-elect Benigno R. Fitial, who will be sworn in on Commonwealth Day, Jan. 9, 2006.
In related news, Coastal Resources Management deputy director William Stephen Tilley has also been appointed as acting director. He is temporarily replacing CRM director Joaquin Salas, who has resigned.
Meliza Guajardo, administrator for the CNMI Scholarship Office, is on personal leave from Dec. 12, 2005 through Jan. 6, 2006. During this period, all matters relating to the Scholarship Office will be referred to Tebuteb.
