Why wait so long to file lawsuit vs govt?

The hype and spin on the planned lawsuit by the Retirement Fund to force the lame duck administration to pay its contribution should have been done 10 months ago.

Perhaps the board has some compelling reasons for its grand complacency in turning foot dragging into an art. Call it the la mañana syndrome.

Retirees may be ignorant that the board adopted a resolution last February authorizing such a lawsuit. Why wait until year’s end to file it? Frankly, all these media posturing confirms the fact that the board simply failed in its fiduciary duty to act on this matter on a timely basis. This negligence has filtered down to some retirees not receiving their checks this weekend. Is the board satisfied with its grand complacency?
